Rooted Risers Africa

On the 25th of July 2026, we welcomed 70 young Africans into the Rooted Risers Africa community—an exciting step towards building a Pan-African network of young advocates, storytellers and change makers.

Our onboarding featured inspiring reflections from Mirabel Longep, Promise Baribor, and Esther Karama from Sierra Leone, who shared their advocacy journeys and the lessons they have gathered along the way.

Their stories reminded us that change often begins with something simple: seeing what is happening in your community and choosing to speak about it.

Through Rooted Risers Africa, we hope to help young people sharpen their advocacy and storytelling skills, build meaningful connections, and bring the stories of their communities to the forefront.

We are starting with 70, but the vision is much bigger.

Across Africa, we want young people to tell our stories, in our voices, and on our own terms.

This is only the beginning.
